Ingredients that clear clogged pores -
- Salicylic acid (generally derived from willow bark or other natural sources) is a beta hydroxy acid that works from the outside in to dissolve protein and is very effective at clearing congestion. The Intensive Repair Serum can be applied 2-3 times a week (PM) to reduce congestion in pores.
- Retinol is an important ingredient for sebum regulation, cell turnover, regulation of sebum, and inflammation. Our Gentle Retinol Night Serum or Treatment Retinol Serum is excellent for congestion and acne concerns, it can be used nightly.
- Oils high in linoleic acid (Omega-6 EFAs), can clear pores clogged with sebum associated with low linoleic acid levels. Besides breaking up sebum, oils create a follicular environment that inhibits P. acnes growth. Omega-6 rich oils like safflower and sunflower are ideal; stay away from coconut oil, which can be comedogenic. The Treatment Oil (AM/PM), which is a unique blend of fatty acids that help thin sebum quality in the skin. Because oils dissolve oils, using one daily can help reduce congestion in the skin by breaking down oils deep within the pores.
